Walk theme: Tie-Dye Day!
Description: On June 11th, join Brilliant Labs and “I Move…I Learn” teams for this colourful Health and Wellness walk!
When: June 11, 2021
Who: Calling on all school class bubbles, as well as individuals from communities across the Atlantic provinces, Canada and worldwide!
Initiative goal: “Walk in Colours” promotes health and wellness for people of all ages! How far can we travel when we add up every participants’ kilometres? Can we travel across the Atlantic provinces, from Edmundston N.B all the way to St-John’s Newfoundland (1,992.6 km)? Or even, travel from Saint-John’s Newfoundland to Vancouver, British Columbia (7087.6 km)? Who knows? We can dream big! Let’s plant seeds of happiness on our way!

Atlantic Map – Once your registration is completed, a star will appear on the map to identify your community.
In May – let’s add kilometres: During the month of May, all registered classes or participants will be invited to cumulate their kilometres. A calendar will be shared with participants to help keep track of their kilometres every day. For students, 15 minutes of outdoor activity = 1km. When outdoors with family members, students can double and triple their kilometres. On walk day June 11th, all participants will be able to confirm the number of kilometres accomplished by entering them on the website.

Physical distancing will be respected – class bubbles, individual walking.
Fun Maker activity: all registered participants will be invited to create tie-dye clothing that they will wear for the event. Brilliant Labs will offer workshops for students, showing ways of upcycling clothing to make bandanas, buffs or other garments. Students will also learn ways of creating natural colouring to give their clothing a tie-dye look!

Description: Le 11 juin prochain, joins-toi à Labos créatifs et “Je bouge…j’apprends” pour cette marche colorée pour la santé et le mieux-être!

Qui: Invitation lancée à toutes les bulles-classes des écoles ainsi que les individus de toutes les communautés à travers les provinces atlantiques, au Canada et ailleurs au monde!
But de l’initiative: Une marche en couleurs afin de promouvoir la santé et le mieux-être destinées aux personnes de tous les âges! Comment pouvons-nous voyager en cumulant les km parcourus par tous les participants? Peut-on prévoir traverser les provinces atlantiques, en partant d’Edmundston N.B jusqu’à St-John’s, Terre-Neuve (1,992.6 km)? Ou même, voyager de St-John’s, Terre-Neuve jusqu’à Vancouver, en Colombie-Britannique (7087.6 km)? Qui sait? Permettons-nous de voir grand! Sèmons de petites graines de bonheur sur notre chemin!

Carte de l’Atlantique – Une fois votre inscription complétée, une étoile identifiant votre communauté apparaîtra sur la carte.
En mai – cumulons nos km: Durant le mois de mai, les classes et participants seront invités à cumuler les km parcourus chaque jour. Un calendrier sera partagé aux participants afin d’aider à cumuler les km parcourus chaque jour. Pour les élèves, 15 minutes d’activité à l’extérieur = 1km. Si ces derniers encouragent leur famille à sortir avec eux, ils pourront doubler et tripler leurs km. Lors de la journée de marche le 11 juin prochain, les participants seront en mesure d’inscrire tous les km parcourus sur le site web.

La distanciation physique sera respectée – bulles-classes et marche individuelle.
Activité créative amusante:tous les participants seront invités à créer un vêtement ou article aux couleurs tie-dye qu’ils pourront porter lors de la marche. Labos créatifs offrira des ateliers aux élèves afin de leur présenter diverses façons de réutiliser des vêtements pour créer des buffs, bandeaux ou autres articles. Les élèves apprendront aussi comment créer des couleurs naturelles afin de donner le “look tie-dye” à leur vêtement.
